Searching for creative talent online can be difficult. Tack on the stress of a looming deadline, and you’ve got yourself a full-blown nightmare. To help ease the stress of the search, we’ve compiled a list to compare the pros and cons of the best places to find creative talent online.

Adobe Talent ($399 Per Post, Per Month)

Pros:

  • Ability to search by skills, in order to find the best fit for your team.
  • Since Behance is used to host portfolios, you can easily view the past work of potential hires.

Cons:

  • Top designers are often busy with other projects or employed full-time.
  • Large pool of applicants can also be extremely daunting when trying to make a time-sensitive decision.
  • Level of quality can vary heavily.
  • Expensive, especially if you are posting multiple jobs.

LinkedIn (Price Dependent, Averages around $300-500)

LinkedIn is frequently considered the premiere social network for business professionals, and a popular go-to when posting a new job listing.

Pros:

  • Great way to discover new talent, by searching through existing connections.
  • Good for jobs postings that are targeted towards business professionals.
  • Integrates very well into your workflow if you already use LinkedIn frequently.

Cons:

  • Price ranges can vary heavily, depending on the type of job posting and location.

Dribble Scout ($199 Monthly Pass)

Having risen to popularity of the course of the past few years, Dribbble has become the place to share your work if you are a designer. Recently they have opened up a service that allows businesses to perform targeted searches through their roster of designers.

Pros:

  • Allows you to search through an extremely talented group. To post on Dribbble you must be invited in first.
  • Dribbble is primarily a place for designers to post snippets their work, so you can easily browse through their portfolio to find the right fit for your team.

Cons:

  • Much like Behance, top designers are often busy.
  • Using their service for several months can be costly.

Pros:

  • Affordable.

Cons

  • Likelihood of being inundated with low-quality applicants.
  • Less targeted towards creatives.

CreativeCareers.ca ($0)

Last (but certainly not least ?) is our site! While our service might be the new kid on the block, we feel that we’ve got more than enough going for us to encourage people to check us out.
